Headshots for the Mental Health Commission of Canada
Awhile back the Mental Health Commission of Canada hired us to set up shop in one of their boardrooms and photograph headshots of their whole team. We used the gray wall of the room itself as our backdrop. All told, we photographed around 50 people.
Whenever we have a big day like this, we tether our cameras to a computer so our subjects can immediately review their shoot and make their final selection on the spot. We bring along a person dedicated to helping them make a choice so the photographer can immediately get to work photographing the next person. This system lets us quickly and efficiently photograph large teams. Having everyone chose their favourite photograph immediately saves both us and our clients a ton of time. If the subject can’t find a photo they’re happy with, they can hop back in front of the camera right away. When we get back to the studio, we can being retouching, without having to wait for our clients selections. This way we’re able to photograph large teams while maintaining our 1-day turnaround time.
